Kennedy Space Station (EEK for its acronym in Spanish) is a project that began during the quarentine in 2020. It is located in Kennedy, Bogotá, Colombia. This area is part of the outskirts of the city and it has been marginalized due to its high population and violence issues. In 2020, Kennedy was often locked up because of the coronavirus. It was isolated as if there was a dome surrounding the area: It was impossible to leave because the perimeter was guarded by army soldiers and police officers. During those days, an eclipse happened but due to Colombia's location it was impossible to see it. For that reason the Kennedy Space Station (which bears the same name as the Space Center in EEUU) was created and used to stream a simulation of the Eclipse on YouTube to the people who were locked up in the area. It was a political and artistical statement of spatial and technological appropriation through fictional tools.

It was streamed in June 5th / 2020 from 12:45 to 16:04 UTC-5 at the same time the real eclipse happened.

Sound was 90% designed with audios taken from http://uvb-76.net/, a collection of radio frequencies from UVB-76 radio. This is a Russian radio that has been transmitting a 4635 Khz radio frequency during 40 years. Its archive is pretty huge, for that reason It was curated by selecting audios taken of different June 5th days from different years and mixing them with WhatsApp audios sent in 2020 about Kennedy’s situation.

Five times the same rock (2020)
This project is a collection of Mars images taken from a NASA program to label those images in order to classify them depending on the type of ground in Mars. The idea is to create a dataset with labels that can be used through Machine Learning by the Mars rovers. Those images were digitally modified in Photoshop to create new landscapes with the same rock repeated many times. It's an space imagery appropriation.
